Charles Danby is an artist, writer and curator. He is currently presenting a new curatorial programme of solo projects at Siobhan Davies Studios under the series title Animated Environments (supported by Arts Council England). Recent curated exhibitions include Epilogues: It Started With A Car Crash at IMT Gallery (2011), and Grand National - Art from Britain (2010) - a partial-survey of works by British artists at Norway's Vestfossen Kunstlaboratorium. He teaches at Richmond University and was formerly a Teaching Fellow at the Slade (2010-11) and a lecturer in Fine Art at Loughborough University (2007-2010). He is a features writer for Aesthetica Magazine and has written reviews, articles and profiles on contemeporary visual art practice for visual art and culture publications including Frieze, Untitled, Art Review, Flash Art and I-D Magazine, and was Assistant Editor of Miser&Now Magazine (2008-09). Recent catalogue texts include Are Blytt (2011) Absinthe and Presents (2011) and The Drowning World (2010). Recent exhibitions of his artworks include Lobby, Cell, London, 2009; Lanskip, Hotel Maria-Kapel, Hoorn, NL, 2009, and Pyramids, Galleria Del Cortille, Rome, 2008. He lives and works in London.
